Economic Development Practitioner

Ogone is a seasoned Economic Development practitioner with more than 14  years of professional experience spanning disciplines such as accountancy, financial management,  project management, and management consulting. His focus has been in strategy development and implementation, economic development as well business research and innovation advisory amongst others. His experience has spanned multiple industries such as transport and logistics, media, finance, engineering, and energy.

Ogone holds a B-Com Accounting degree, he has completed ACCA Part One - Professional and International. He also holds a Masters of Management (Public & Development Management) from Wits University, specializing in public economics, strategy and leadership, development management, public policy, governance, and development finance. Ogone graduated from the Thabo Mbeki Africa Leadership Institute with a certificate on International Trade and African Development, and is currently pursuing his PhD in economics with North West University focusing on the role of development finance in supporting innovation and technology development in the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC).

Ogone is a strategic thinker who is passionate about economic developmental issues such as technology and innovation advancement, sustainable development as well as SMME and enterprise development. He believes that Africa can realise its true potential through building sustainable economic participation for all.

He is an avid reader and a keen researcher who finds great pleasure in acquiring new knowledge and building an understanding about how the world works - particularly in areas of business, economy and politics.
